In VFH the layered texture works in a way, where the base layer is at the bottom and you are supposed to stack layers on top of it
I'm having a lot of trouble with this now for many reasons,
-the blend material which uses the same concept, works in opposite direction. You have the base material(BRDF1) at the top, and you stack coats below it.
-The layered texture is all other Vray integrations have the base layer at the top and you stack layers below it(just like how the blend material works which makes a lot of sense)
-Adding more layers, from the "+" icon at the top, it actually adds them below the base layer or in other words you are stacking your layers in the wrong direction!
I know that you are supposed to use "insert before" but you get the point.
What I'm talking about here is consistency, the layered texture and blend material should both work the same way. You cannot have one stacking in the opposite direction of the other
I would prefer if the layered texture would work like the Blend material, where you have the base layer at the top of the stack, and you add coats below it
This is how the layered texture works in other Vray integrations, and how the Vray Blend material works.
Another request is to have the blend mode defaulting to None, because Overlay can cause a lot of trouble.. I don't want to change this for every layer I add.
And this is how the layered texture works in Vray for Maya and Vray for Modo, It just doesn't make sense to have overlay by default
Best,
Muhammed
