  • DomeLight "Affect Reflection" doesn't seem to work

    Hi,

I have a dome light in my scene and a metallic shader on an object.
In the Shader, I have added a Environment Image as envirronment_override.

Works fine when I deactivate the dome light, but with the dome light switched on, I can't deactivate the reflection contribution with the "Advanced -> Affect Reflections". It always overrides the reflection.

    Thanks,

    Helge

Sorry, I think I have found my problem.

I have to de-activate "Affect Specular".
Had the same issue also in the Environment Settings in the Render Node.

    So, problem solved!

Turning of "Affect Specular" or "Affect Reflections" of the DomeLight will do the job. Environment Override is a texture which will be rendered if object does not reflect anything / ray "hits" background/, but the Dome light is acting like giant sphere around the scene, that is why Dome light is reflected instead of environment texture.
