  • how to load *vfbl file for hundreds rop render ?

    hello,

i have many many rop render setup in my houdini file.
this is design object that i have to render.
I have setup a beautifull color corection and all with the VFB and save it as a *vfbl file.

now i can apply this vfbl file to all render by starting an ipr of each one and loading the vfbl file..

but i have hundreds or thousands rop.. i can't take that time !

Do you know if there is a way to load the vfbl in all rop at a time ?

There is no built-in functionality for this, but you could copy VFB2 settings parameters with some script.

For VFB2 we're storing settings at ROP string parameters "_vfb2_settings" and "_vfb2_layers".
    I guess you'll be interested in "_vfb2_layers" (for VFB1 we have "_vfb_settings" and "_vfb_settings_ext").

Script may look smth like that: https://gist.github.com/bdancer/2ccf...2b8b4c1c497ae5

        1. Make a new shelf tool, copy and paste this script there.
        2. Select ROP nodes you want settings to be copied into, now select with shift-click the node you want to copy settings from - now press the shelf tool button we've created in step 1.
        3. Now if you render with any of the selected ROP nodes VFB2 layers should be as in from node.

So easy when you know ! thanks you

If i change the vfb2 layers of the source rop after this script. it's applied automaticly or i need to re run the script ?

                Hello bdancer , isn't working.

                What i do wrong ?

First a select all the rop on the left (1) with a rectangle selection.
Second, a shit click on the rop alone on the right ( 2 )
Then, i hit the button i created in the shelf bar to start this script you give to me ( 3 )

when i render the other rop , the layers are differents than the rop of step 2 .

I'm not quite sure you still have nodes selected... this is how it looks for me:

bdancer yes that was like that before i reorganise the nodes to take the screen shot.
I will retry this later this week end.
