  • How to access Vray Asset Browser in Houdini

    Hi,

Sorry for this question, maybe I am blind^^ but I wanted to try out the new material library with vray 5 but I cant find the asset browser in houdini. Or how do I have to acess it? I couldnt find anything in the help either. I installed vray just by pointing the env file to the newest nightly version.

Yeah, I found them not in the Material Palette but in the Tools.
Open in your network view (/mat context) the Tools-Palette (top icons) and look for V-RAY Material Libary.

    Sceenhsot attached.

    Regards,

    Helge

Hello Jon3D , new V-Ray material library is available only on windows for now. You can find materials in Material Palette tab. Be sure V-Ray is enabled in Edit > Preferences > Rendering menu.

Is there a way to download the asset library files for VFH somewhere manually? I did install vray only via the env file so I think I am missing the assets.

The default path of the texture materials will fail therefore.

Unfortunately no, there is no way so download material library manualy. The only way is to install V-Ray for 3dsmax of Houdini /on windows/.
