  • ( fixed ) [ HOU-2616 ] Swimming textures

    I guess I'm missing something pretty straightforward with Vray but for the sake of me, I can't figure out how to make my textures not swim. This is my shading network.
    I tried different configurations on how to make this work but with no luck. I'm using the GPU render. I'm using the rest attrib as well. If someone has an example file or please advise. Thanks.

    Im using Vray 5.10.20 Update 1 Houdini 18.5.596

    In redshift, I can just use the reference object and if I have @rest redshift recognized and it works without too much trouble.
    I tried to use the "reference transform" in the tri-planar which asks for geo I'm guessing, which isn't super useful (I which you could just enter the rest attrib there instead) I tried that and I couldn't make it work either. I'm really struggling here to understand this simple task in Vray GPU

      Attached a quick demo scene. The actual scene I cant upload since is a working scene but this shows the issue that I'm having.
      I tried your suggestion before as well bdancer and I couldn't make it work. There is an RS file there and if you guys have the demo it should work right away.

        Unfortunately, ref. mesh has to be implemented for GPU... I'll try to check how much time this could take asap...

          Can you guys please put this in high priority, I'm on a current job trying to use this. And I'm using vray cloud I have already a bunch of credits so I would highly appreciate it if this is fixed urgently. Thank you!

                Hey hsz ,

                The developer working on this says the feature should be ready by the end of the week. It will require some extra effort on our end to sync it with the V-Ray for Houdini builds so I'd say next Monday should be a reasonable timeframe. Does that work for you?

                    I test the nightly build from today and the triplanar bug still happening. Just wondering if this will get fix this week? Thanks!
