  • 3ds Max to Houdini workflow

    Hi all,

    I have many separate assets with VRay materials in 3ds Max and want to import them, one by one, into Houdini. What is the best workflow and format to do that? Have tried both .vrscene and fbx, but materials and textures don´t seem to follow.

    Thanks in advance!

    VRscene is the only one that would carry the shaders, AFAIK

      Thanks. Is there any documentation about this somewhere? What will work and what will not, 3ds max specific material nodes, groups, multimaterials, etc etc...

        Hi Mats_O , like glacierise said the only way is to use vrscenes. Everything supported by V-Ray standalone is supported in V-Ray for Houdini.
