  • "Direct Illumination" on V-Ray LightMtl and RTX/CUDA

    Hi,

The "Direct Illumination" option on the V-RayLight Material don't seem to have any effect(renders material black) when using the RTX or the CUDA engine.
It seems to work fine on the CPU engine.

Seems to work on my end. Is this the official V-Ray 6 build ? Can you share simple scene?

      Hi,

Yes it's a offical V-Ray 6 build, however the issue was due to the geometry being (Packed Alembic), which the CPU engine/mode supports but not the RTX/CUDA engines.

Also noticed that the "Direct Illumination" option on the material only works if the material is assigned directly on a geometry node in the "Objects" context, not if the shader is assigned inside a geometry node. But there are workarounds for both situations of course...
