    Hi

    I just wanted to register our interest in VRay supporting materialX in solaris. It seems to be getting much wider adoption. The integration in solaris is great, and Maya2023's USD update just added support.

    Fingers crossed it is already on the VRay road map.

    Seconding this, I would love to see MaterialX support in V-Ray. I have been using the Karma implementation and liking it quite a bit. I'd say I prefer working with MtlX Standard Surface over VRayMtl or Houdini's Principled shader from a UI/UX perspective. Aside from Karma and the aforementioned Maya 2023 USD release, Renderman has also added support to their Hydra delegate recently (separate from the MaterialX Lama stuff) and so has Clarisse 5.5. Since things are moving in the direction of "universal scene description", IMO it's logical for materials to be part of that.

                          This is great news!

                          As an unrelated side note, it made me chuckle to see you are using DJV view. I have tried to use Chaos Player, but have found it completely unusable. It seems like even doing the simplest things is a fight.
