This would also be useful in the blend Material.

    Best,
    David.

This is a brilliant idea honestly!!
I struggle with this a lot, and keep disconnecting layers or play with the mask to know which one is which.

      +1 for this

Would something along those lines work for you guys ? // those will update when you re-wire a socket, of course.

          Hi,

That a cool option for sure, but the inputs might change several times, you add an additional curve, or color correct, clamp. So you then have to rename that new node to what you wanted.
i would still prefer a name field to put what I want and that that would stay no matter what you connect.
          Maybe both options

Also, wait a bit longer and see what more people say.

          Best,
          David.

Oh, I didn't realize you want to actually write things down manually (and maybe I got a bit excited when I finally figured out how to add event callbacks to nodes ).

Alright, will message back soon with something else.

            Cheers!

                Hey!

Thanks Gosho for the update, the workflow you showed is very helpful. I will need to rename if I add a clamp or curve like what David explained.
If it is possible to do the naming directly to the the layered texture/Blend material that would be the best/easiest workflow
If not, I can live with what you showed above.

                Best,
                Muhammed
