    guess we're all waiting!

btw, has anyone been able to install phoenix while on a nightly build?
It loads just fine with the current official build, but when I uninstalled my 2.20.1 build, got the latest nightly then I suddenly got an error telling me that some phoenix mll file could not be found.

Yepp, we're running nightlies from a network share - but I copied the two files mentioned in post #11 to my local directory.

You need a stable build - 2.10 or 2.20; for the moment the 2.25 nightlies won't work (will fix it a bit later).

Works well here since I got the license update. No big time to test today sadly

working like a charme! having a lot of fun testing Phoenix, and it's surprisingly easy to use. Good thing Jimmy made that video on Youtube to show how it works!
the foam and splashes render beautifully...

I'm trying to shade my liquid though, but haven't quite figured how to attach a VrayMtl to it.
EDIT: Doh, drag and drop from the Hypershade to the liquid container was all it took

I don't suppose anyone else can explain how to get the .wbc file ? (on Win 7, x64)
I followed what it says in the (vray) install PDF but nothing comes up in my browser (Chrome & IE, both up-to-date with latest java).
Ideally need to fling this file off to CG tonight so that I may get a chance to start testing over the weekend.

normally, if you type "http://localhost:30304" without the quotes in the browser, you get a webpage.
there you click on get status and then on bottom page 'upgrade license' or something like that. there is a link to get the .wbc file

what is happening in your browser ?

Well I'm at work at the moment but when I did that nothing came up at all, like a broken link type of page.
As soon as I'm home I'll try it again but I tried it connected online and offline.

maybe you changed the localhost connection port number. check in your license settings.

check your firewall settings too, your port might be blocked by your windows firewall for example.

You might also be using a license server on the network - if this is the case, you need to go to the machine where the dongle is plugged and make sure that the license server is running.

                        Best regards,

I didn't change anything upon installing it but once I'm home I'll take a look at the numbers I can see and jot them down if it's still not working.

This could be the problem actually, any idea what I'd be looking for to unblock if it's causing the problem ?

I don't have a network at home, just the workstation which it's plugged into.

                            RobPhoboS please try following:
                            - Start the license server and make sure that the black VL icon appears on the notification area of your Windows task bar.
                            - Disable completely your Windows firewall and any antivirus software that you might have
                            - On the same PC open the status web page of the license server: http://localhost:30304/getstatus
                            - if you still can't open the license server status web page please send us an email to support@chaosgroup.com with regards to this threads and we will work from there

                                Important!

Nightly builds from March 9 were uploaded. It's preferable to use them instead of the official beta. The new nightly builds are compatible with the stable 2.1 and 2.2 VRay for Maya and with the nightly from March 9.
