  • Shaderball scene for Vray Next

    Hi,

Using this scene to create my materials in Vray Next. I did a clean retopology and UVs of this shaderball in Modo then converted the scene to Maya

This would be useful as a Max version if it's convertible please

Hello, I will make one for Max.. will ping you when it is ready

It is the same one that Grant Warwick published couple of years ago, it is available for free
                https://gumroad.com/l/usucf

Mine has better UVs and more lighting options and adds the color chart and the grey balls, so it is worth to convert again.

Thanks Muhammed. I did d/l it earlier before I realised it was Maya only
Saw it was Grant's but just noticed this post and looked so useful

Amazing stuff man, I love the idea of having a custom made scene just for the dev look, materials and all. One can feel like in lab Thanks for sharing it.

It's kind of worth setting up something in your house for this - lighting / shading detail is really heavily driven by size and distance so if you can make yourself a little table top reference shoot where you know the size and distance of a light source hitting your reference object, you can really quickly eliminate variables and start dialling in your bump and glossy settings!

                          Hi Muhammed,

I tried downloading Grant's but no joy.

Did you ever make one for Max ? (the one with the bells and whistles )

If so, I'd really appreciate one copy if you would be so kind

                          Many thanks
                          Jez
