  • Dock VFB

    Hi all

is it possible yet, to dock the main VFB in to Maya's main window. Instead of the floating window?

    Cheers

It is not possible to dock V-Ray VFB with all its features into Maya, but if you like you could use the native Maya frame buffer and dock it:

We had this with Qt 4, but had to remove the feature when Maya switched to Qt 5 because it caused some issues. We should look into it again and see if we can fix it.

      Best regards,
      Vlado

I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Would definitely free up some scree real-estate, and keep from having to keep moving the VFB to get to other windows.

Nikolay, the Maya Render View pops up and disappears when I render off a V-Ray render in the VFB.
I can doc a Render View in one of the windows, but how do you then get the render view to render and IPR V-Ray?

        Cheers

Hm.. here is what I am doing. I set V-Ray as a Renderer in the Render settings and turn off the "Use V-Ray VFB" option. Then I dock the Render view and finally I use its render icons to start either normal or IPR render:

            Cool, cheers.

The Render View window pops out from being docked, on first render.
Once re-docked, the windows seems to stay docked.

It pops for me with other renderers too, not just V-Ray, so I suspect it's something in Maya.

It would be great to have the buffer dockable in M 2025 +

I will like If it can do too, I hope to develop from chaosGroup. I think we should also request to Autodesk!.
