  • Combine Displacement/Bump onto a Vector Displacement.

Is there a way to combine a bump map or high frequency displacement map to a vector displacement.

For exemple I export sculpt from zbrush as VDM and I want to add High Frequency detail too by blending a black and white map.

In Arnold you plug both a displace and a VDM at the same time on the texture. Is there any equivalent in vray.

    Thanks!

If the effect is subtle just combined with bump or normal map should work

The thing is my black and white map wont be in vector world space. I'll have to convert it before I do any blending.

I would assume you multiply a WorldpsaceNormal map to to a black and white map, but vdm doesnt seem to be in the same space as a world space normal map.

In the picture I have put a diff of a vdm of a inflated sphere and on the right I have a world space normal.

I kind of successfully achieve the thing, but it would be a very long process.

I inflated a sphere->export VDM-> and multiply my BW map with the VDM. It kind of work but I'd like to find a more automatic of doing so.

Found the solution. I Baked a world position map than did some math with it works well.

Yeah originally I thought the problem with world space colors multiply but your solution is interesting, cheers.
