    Hi @damaggio & @Zdravko.Keremidchiev

Simplified scene attached. I'd love to know why opacity maps aren't working with fog.

    Thanks in advance.

Disattacing the Marble texture from the EnvironmentFog seems to fix the issue. That's on a first glans I will check further and get back to you.

Thanks @Zdravko.Keremidchiev. Disconnecting the marble texture doesn't fix the problem for me. Any other suggestions?

This is a very specific issue which happens only in that fall off region of the Box- environmentFog where it seems to sample the Environment override fog before the box fog in the opacity area. I'll report this issue in our bug tracking system but I can't give you a time frame for this fix. For now, as a workaround, I would suggest recreating those weeds as a geometry. This could be done with splines.

Another easier and faster workaround will be to use displacement with Water level. For that purpose, you will need to convert the Alpha to RGB, feed it in a displacement node that you apply to the plane, add divisions to the plane geometry and set a proper water level so the background will disappear which will leave only the branches out.
