  • Any info on "A tool for converting materials to V-Ray material"

    hi!

I tried to find some documentation on this. i can expect it creates a vray network, but i'm curious what types of materials it's expecting? redshift, arnold, etc. ?

    thanks,
    doug

We'll update the documentation very soon. For the moment it converts from standardSurface and aiStandardSurface. Some parameters are still not handled, but this will be improved in the future (examples are dispersion, the sss layer, coat, sheen).
You'll see an option there 'create adapter nodes' - when enabled it will create a more complex shading network to better match the result. Disable it to produce a cleaner shading network.
We'll expand it with more features in the future.

thanks Alex! This is really exciting that you'll be working on this and improving it. A huge bonus for the maya vray community.
