      Yes, at this point it renders correctly.

      Here are my steps in the order I made them:

      - installing V-Ray 5 for Maya 2020;

      - installing Phoenix FD 4 for V-Ray 5;

      - saving a .vrscene from Maya 2020 with "Use V-Ray VFB" disabled;

      - navigating to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2020\vray\bin and starting the cmd;

      - here is the command I'm using to start the render: vray -sceneFile="c:\temp\my_file.vrscene" -imgFile="c:\temp\render.png".

      Are your steps the same as mine? Could you try using my steps in the same order I made them and send us over the whole log from the Standalone's console?

      Thanks!

        OK so I just tried your steps and I still couldnt get the ocean to render.
        My steps are:
        1. Open vray standalone command prompt.
        2. using vray -sceneFile="D:\Projects\2020\AUT_11121_Boat\VRay\ho useboat.vrscene" -display=1

        This saves out a file same as your method without displacement.

        This is the same scene from within Maya VFB

            OK you have solved this issue!
            The clue was in your change directory, I had it set to "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2018\vray\bin>"

            When I changed the directory to "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2020\vray\bin>"
            All worked.

              Hey,

              As I can see from the log, you are starting the Standalone's console using Maya 2018 and V-Ray 4.

              To be sure that you are using the correct vray.exe (as far as I understood you want to use Maya 2020) navigate to: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2020\vray\bin. When you are there write "cmd" in the Address Bar of the File Explorer and press Enter.

              Then type in: vray -sceneFile="c:\temp\my_file.vrscene" -imgFile="c:\temp\render.png", and the render should have an Ocean Texture.

              Hope this helps!
