  • Constrain or parent VRayPlaceEnvTex node?

In doing product turntables it's usually easier to animate the product than the camera, however this sometimes looks odd if the lighting doesn't also rotate. Normally I just parent my lights into the animation, however when using an HDRI I haven't found a way to do this normally -- the VrayPlaceEnvTex node can't be parented or constrained in the normal way. Animating the horizontal rotation explicitly seems to be the only method. Is there a way to parent or constrain the placement node instead?

You can just parent everything under the Dome, minus the camera and keyframe the animation.

I'm looking for a way to do the opposite -- I don't want my animation to be driven by the animation on the dome's placement. I have a custom rig I use for this type of thing and want that to drive things...

I see, sonyboy, I'm afraid that's my only simple tip.
        Good luck.
