  • V-Ray GPU Light Cache

Hi, I know since Maya Update 2, LC is by default calculated with GPU. I have particularly heavy scene I came back to now and I receive the following error:

// Error: V-Ray : [GPU light cache] Could not allocate pinned buffer of size 38400000! //

Is there any way to override settings and force LC to be calculate with CPU instead? I feel like this has been changed a bit too early, even though I don't have issues with any other scene I am rendering with GPU.

    regards,
    Karol

    Hey Karol.Osinski

There is a fix to this issue that was just released today, it should cover most of the memory issues with GPU LC
You will find it in the Stable 5.2 folder, build number 31122
I have tested this fix extensively and it seems to work nicely, let me know how this works for you
Sorry about this inconvenience, we didn't get it in time for Maya's update 2

There is extra work being done on this, make sure you are on the latest nightly build
This should be much better than before
