I couldn't find any solution to this - other than compositing in AfterEffects: Is it possible to "blend" two shaders/materials with the distanceTex utility? How?
Thanks for any ideas.
Hi Hermit,
Thanks for answering. Plugin into the Blend Amount did work.
Is there a way to control the size of the blend area like sharpness of the blend?. let's say area with sharp edges.
Current Example: A pipe shows two different shaders controlled by 90° plane that is connected to the distanceTex and moves along the pipe.
If I use a cube instead of the pipe I get two areas, and not a single wider one with sharp edges.
Hi Aleks, I wanted to try your scene but is not a file that can be opened with 7Zip archive, nothing gets extracted.
Is there another format you can upload?.
Thanks

It was archived via 7Zip. Try opening it manually (right click > 7Zip > Open archive). If that doesn't work, PM me your e-mail so I cant send it.
