  • Apply linear deformer to proxy

    Hi folks.
I cant seem to get this to work so would be good to see if anyone else can see whats happening.

I have created a proxy using the old proxy import method..
Change the preview to maya mesh
Add a linear bend deformer and this seems to break the proxy and cant be rendered.

I need to be able to put a little wobble on some proxy plants but this is preventing me from doing so.
Im using the Indoor Plant 010 in cosmos.

    Is there a work around?

I can't seem to reproduce this. Using the same VRay Cosmos asset and following your steps. Also don't you mean "nonlinear" deform? I'm using the latest official V-Ray build.

Ok, I figured it out. Turns out the Deformer messes up the Material IDs of the VRayProxy (they reset to 1); otherwise, they render fine. I've logged the issue (internal bug-tracker id: VMAYA-13061) for dev investigation. Not sure if there's an easy workaroud.
