    Just reading throught the new docs on shave&haircut because it says vray support. Does anyone know if this means vray can render shave hairs or shave can groom vray hairs?

    Till I know, Max hair is Shave & Haircut (And XSI too), so there works, but if you use S&HC for Maya, I don't know if Vray for Maya will understand it, because Maya hair & fur is different and Vray for Maya is being developed for render Maya's hair, and about fur, Vray has created its own plugin for that... so... try with the demo if you haven't S&HC yet!.

          how does it work? can u use shave to groom vray hair?

          only response i got from joe alter was "It renders vray prims with our shaders"

            You are working with Shave, and Vray will render it. I use buffer or mr prims to render Shave hair.

              cmd line batch rendering is a problem for us, getting this error

              Error: shaveVrayCmd: can not get shaveHairShape's shader.

              I have asked Vlado for help

                just a note that I'm working with Joe and Vladimir at Joealter to get the Mac version working. It's not working currently.

                  While I have Shave rendering in vray locally, I can't seem to get it working in a distributed render. Could be a lic issue, but I don't think so. If anyone has gotten shave to work with DR, I'd love to know!

                    Mac version works fine. It was a problem with my Maya preferences. Trashed them and renders fine.
