VrayToon

Hey,
I just saw that VrayToon has been added to Maya in the nightlies. How do we turn it on? In Max it's a simple environment effect, but I'm not entirely sure where it's located in Maya.

Rendering > Toon > VrayToon atrribute

Not to complain but its placement is a little inconsistent. (ie if the V-Ray Toon options are under the Toon menu, Vray Fur should be under Maya's fur menu and some light options could also be under the Create Lights menu or Lighting/Shading etccc). But this has always been a Maya thing Alias, Autodesk or otherwise! Many ways to place menus.

Edit: Don't worry though as after a quick test it seems it's not fully hooked up yet so we cant test.

yeah, that is a really weird place to put it. I'd understand if it was under the Create>V-Ray menu like the other V-Ray specific features. I guess it'd make sense to have it both places really. Too bad it's not connected yet, the changelog said it was resolved as a feature request!

It will be moved to the Create > V-Ray menu. Otherwise, it is not hooked up yet (the SettingsVRayToon plugin is missing). Should be fine in the next night build.
