  • IPR Render Performance

    Hello,

I was curious to know about speeding up the IPR render for Vray for Maya 2011 in Windows 7 64 bit.. I"m running Vray 2.0. I have been testing the IPR method on 3 exact machines with the exception of the grfx cards... Machine 1 has an nvidia quadro FX 5600, Machine 2 has an nvidia quadro FX 5800, Machine 3 has an nvidia quadro FX 6000..

There really doesn't seem to be too much performance gained with this even on the higher grfx card? I would think that with the newer and faster cards the performance would be dramatically different on the same scenes especially since we see a huge difference in Real time performance on other real time apps?

Are there any settings to change to allow the faster gpu and on board proc/ram kick in?

    Thanks,

Did you switch to the OpenCL engine in the first place? If you are using the CPU engine, of course there won't be any difference.

    Best regards,

Yes, I switched that setting but there still doesn't seem to be any faster performance?

I was curious to know if there are hardware accelerator options in Vray settings or the Nvidia control panel settings or even in Maya that I was missing?

If you look at the V-Ray RT render server window, does it show that it is really using the GPU?
