  • VRayMtlHair3 - no secondary highlight shift?

    Hi,
I am testing the VRayMtlHair3 shader and I see that by default the two highlights have the same position/angle, rather than allowing a shift as per the Marschner hair model. I think that this shift is an important visual aspect to some hair shading so I wondered if there was any way to create that shift in the VRayMtlHair3 shader? Just a simple cheated rotation of the incoming light direction along the hair tangent would do the trick, it doesn't need to be the full physically-based calculation.

    Thanks,

    Philip

The current implementation of VRayMtlHair3 omits the shift (as well as glint hilights). It is on the "to do" list to implement that. If you need it urgently, let me know and I can add it relatively quickly to the nightly builds.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Thanks for the reply, this isn't urgent right now but would be great to have some time.
