I have a job coming up next year that will require me to do a lot of fur rendering.
Right now, we are trying to figure out a vray/shave pipeline. Shave purports to be compatible with vray but I haven't seen much evidence of that so far.
I've been following a lot of the shave threads here on the choas group forums and am a little confused as to the state of the vray/shave pipeline. Last I heard they were supposed to support each other but shave wasn't set up to take the vray hair shader or any other vray shader? Is that accurate?
Is there any way to assign a vray shader to the shave hair? Can you get good renders of the shave hair using its default shave shader?
I'd be very grateful for any insight you might be able to shed on using vray to render dynamic fur (we've tried vray's fur and while it looks good, we need it to be more interactive).
