  • Replacing GI material for

    Heya

    I'm not sure if I saw it here or in MR but I'm pretty sure it was here... I'm looking for node that would allow me to change object/material GI properties. So that I can override all displacement materials with simple shader to quickly calculate GI instead of wasting a lot of time on it.

    Is it here or I'm imagining things again ? :s

    Why do you not create a renderLayer to bake your GI (and disable displacement, glossy...) ?

        Heya

        Interesting idea bigbossfr I guess I could do that but I wanted to do it in 1 render than 2. Will have to give it a go as I think ur method would be even better than what I wanted to do ! Nice one thanks.

        Morbid Angel umh yea I think so, didn't vray had a node that would allow different refl/refr/gi/etc etc overrides? I could swear I saw it somewhere. /ps I think I got it :s

            bah exactly ! Now I just have to figure out a way to use it with disp. I'm bit rusty with it atm hehe.

              Create two identical Vray Materials with different shading groups - one with displacement and one without.
              Assign material with displacement to your object - and add VrayOverride node - attach the material without displacement to GI override slot.
