  • Material Select per Light select ?

    Heya

I'm scratching my head to see if its possible.

I have 10 lights in my Light select pass, what I want to do is to use Material Select as a shader source for Light Select pass. So atm I have mtlBlend which screen 2 shaders together. Now I want to get render pass per each of those shaders per each light I have in scene.

So in total I get 20 render passes, 10 for each shader.

Is it doable or I have to set up 2 render passes?

Just curious if I mist something.

    Thanks, bye.

I think you need to setup 2 renderLayer, and each output those 10 light select elements.
The reason being even if you can evaluate 2 shaders properly, light select element will return combined result.
So 2 render layer/pass would be easier to setup, and I don't think you can do it all in one.

        Heya

Inception ftw watched it last night! - Coincidence?!

As to 2 layers, yea that how we have it now. I just wonder if I can get it down to 1-2 render layer per job instead of 3 atm. Funny with MR it took us 25 render layers!!!

        Love Vray, forever and ever!
