  • Distributed light maps

Is it still the case that it's best to have one PC to create light maps rather than split it out over a network?

    Thanks

What do you mean by "light maps"? The light cache GI?

Hi Vlado yes irradiance maps, sorry.

If 100 frames was distributed over 2 rendernodes (1-50, 51-100) what happens to frame 51 when interp frames is set to 2 or more? If it starts on frames 51 does it not need to see the previous caches's to interp?

      Thanks

If you are using interpolated irradiance maps, it is not a problem to use distributed rendering while calculating the maps. The calculation itself doesn't need the previous maps - they are needed during the final rendering.
