You can just write deep OpenEXR 2 files straight out of V-Ray...

I don't see an option for exr 2.0 in Vray 2.4 for Maya.
Where do we find this? Or is this only in the nightlies?

          Hey guys,

This is what I'm currently running and I'm not seeing the exr (deep) option that bazuka has in the image format options.

          [2013/Dec/22|10:03:28] V-Ray: V-Ray for Maya version 2.40.01, revision 23784 from Oct 30 2013, 13:30:03
          [2013/Dec/22|10:03:28] V-Ray: V-Ray core version is 2.00.02

Is there a newer official release of 2.40.01 than the one I am running?

Bummer. I could've sworn I read Vlado saying it was in there already somewhere on these boards.

When it does get put in, it would be preferable if it was listed directly under the other exr formats rather than at the very bottom. Makes the GUI more user friendly

I think, it might be useful to jump on the 2.x nightly builds.

Thanks, I see from the release notes that this is only available in nighties (as opposed to in the "stable" build). Stability is a big concern here, so I guess my question is: are the current nightlies... ahem... "stable"?

The development has already moved on to the 3.0 branch; we only push bug fixes and minor new features in the 2.x nightlies. So yes, they are relatively stable.

                    Best regards,
                    Vlado
