scene? I don't have any problem rendering to vrimg file. rendering is fine and fast. my problem is converting from there to exr afterword. and it isn't that it doesn't work it is that it is just slow as well, honestly I can't think of anything this slow. I can upload the .vrimg file to a ftp and send you a link thru pm if you like.

Just curious How big is your largest render ever? In resolution not number of frames.

3Dmotif:
We've done some tests with the file you've sent us and all builds finished for 5 to 10 minutes.
We're testing on local harddisks, we've not tried to test reading/writing to network shares.
Are you using network storage?
The command we're using is to do the conversion is "vrimg2exr -bufsize 1000 -separateFiles your.vrimg".
Can you try the latest 2.45 build to see it if improves the performance?V-Ray developer

wow that did it it in about 5 minutes. huh. I the only difference was I had an output file name, bufsize was 4096, and I had specced -half or whatever for 16bit buffers. never did complete btw at checked it this morning and it had hung at about 86% which is a little past where ti was when I left work yesterday.
Well with this worked out I'm going to go ahead and try to do the 33K.
wish me luck I will post back how it turned out.
