  • V-Ray for Maya, environment background option for no background

Is there a way to turn off the HDR piped to the background of the dome light, in "render settings/VRay/Environment/background texture. My objective is to use the HDR for the GI, reflections and refractions, but not to have it visible in the background, so i can render products on a white background, without seeing the HDR behind it.

in mental ray, it was simple you just turned off primary visibility, but I'm not seeing that feature or function here unless, it's done somewhere else.
    thanks

You have two options I think:
    1. use real dome camera and make it invisible
    2. use the environment overrides and plug different textures in every slot, so you can have one texture for background and another for gi/reflection/refraction.
