    Hi Yolov, I think I may have phrased that badly and caused confusion. Attached is a scene showing a local projection working fine on a surface material, but not on a volume material. (The projection fails to align with the volume cylinders)

      I've done some experiments and this seems to work when the VRayEnvironmentFog is attached as a global environment override.
      And it doesn't work when the VRayEnvironmentFog is attached to the shading group.

      Can you try the global overrides as a workaround? How important/urgent is this issue for you?

        I don't think applying it globally gives me anything I need (still not 100% sure we're talking about the same thing). The example scene above is quite crude but it's similar to my final scene in that I have several (hundreds) of objects in random orientations which would all need to have a specific animated effect projected through them along the correct axis.

        Urgency is pretty high, I need to get a look signed off within a couple of weeks. Obviously I'm looking at other methods, but this would have been the most direct route to a solution.

        I see there's a VraySwitchTransform node (or some similar name) which is undocumented but looks like it ought to allow me to have a unique 3Dplacement node for each shape node. I can't seem to get anything out of that at all though - it seems to just output a default placement no matter what the inputs are.

          VraySwitchTransform is meant to work for this case, but it seems that it doesn't

            Hi, just wondering if anyone was able to reproduce the problems in post #16 and whether thats a bug or a never-going-to-work situation, likewise whether there's any update on VraySwitchTransform?

              I was able to reproduce the problem and the VRaySwitchTransform.
              Both are broken and then need to be fixed, but I don't know when this will happen.
