  • Rendertime file dump

HI there, one of the guys here was wondering if this would be possible. During render time can VRAY dump out a file of the render scene that includes procedurals (expanded procedurals)? An example of this would be the data Flowline generates.

    Cheers,
    -Chris

You can write a .vrscene file out, but that does not include the expanded state of render-time generated things like proxies, displacement, Yeti etc simply because that geometry only exists in the internal structures of the renderer and has no meaningful representation as a .vrscene.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Thanks Vlado, thats exactly what we thought. Just wondering if there was something else, or a future feature that could provide this. Something like this exists on the PRMAN side of things.

      Cheers,
      -Chris

Yes, I know RenderMan does that, however V-Ray is no RenderMan for better or for worse. Out of curiosity, what would be the use case for this?
