No problem, but Krum did the actual programming There's still a bit of work left to make it a bit more stable and polished and I will upload it on the V-Ray tools page.

      Best regards,
      Vlado

            Hi
at the moment the .vrmesh exporter is creating a vertex color channel for each layer in mudbox is there a way to save only a merged version for each texture channel...?
like diffuse and specular..? or maybe per layer group..?

The crashes are fixed in the code, we just need to upload a new version.

About the vertex color channels, I guess it is possible to merge... will look into it.

              Best regards,
              Vlado

an other way could be to do the merge by hand and export only the visible layers...

Yes, you can get an updated version from the same link:
                    http://www.spot3d.com/vray/misc/mudbox2vrmesh.rar

                    The crashes should be fixed.

                    Best regards,

Very good to see Krum is doing some R&D on levels of detail, and I'm thinking of ways to support deformations (f.e. if you define deformations on the proxy preview in the viewport, they can be transferred to the high-resolution mesh for rendering). It can be quite interesting...

i have a little feature request...
would be great to have an option to export the level1 from mudbox as proxy and not level0... (we are doing terrain and like to scatter onto level1)
and exporting uvs with the proxy would also help a lot...
