I am going to upgrade to Vray 3.3 and also considering to install the extension 2 for maya, and just would like to check if there are any compatibility issues with the new render management tools of Maya.

Maya 2016 Extension 2 is not supported by the 3.30.02 release.
The API/ABI or 2016 ext2 is not the same as for Maya 2016, so you'll need a build specifically for this version.
We'll have an official build hopefully soon. In the next days we'll have support for it in the night builds.V-Ray developer

Yes, the OS X version, as usual, needs more work than the rest. We'll get there soon.

We have the vray installation sitting on a network drive.
For the environment variables (for the 2016 extension 2) which are set in the maya.env
is it:
VRAY_FOR_MAYA2016_5_MAIN_x64
VRAY_FOR_MAYA2016_5_PLUGINS_x64
VRAY_OSL_PATH_MAYA2016_5_x64
or
VRAY_FOR_MAYA2016_MAIN_x64
VRAY_FOR_MAYA2016_PLUGINS_x64
VRAY_OSL_PATH_MAYA2016_x64
thanks in advance!

ok thank you!
I´m evaluating the new renderlayer system right now to see if there´s any advantage in using it together with vray as these collections are similar to vray object properties but seem to be more dynamic and also reusable for other scenes (although kind of buggy as well).
Is it possible to add the object property attributes (like matte surface, Generate Render Elements etc.) directly to an object (without the use of an object property) so I can assign these attributes as absolute overrides to a collection of the new system?

Hello,
me again....
We are having problems with the right click menu when the vray plugin is loaded.
See attached images.
For testing purposes I started Maya without the vray plugin being loaded.
Everything works fine.
Then I load the vray plugin and shortly after some panning, rotating, focusing objects or entering stuff into the channel box, the right click Menu though working doesn´t show any labels.
We are using: vray_adv_33501_maya2016.5_x64_26742Last edited by CAPTURE_MM; 02-05-2016, 06:04 AM.
