  • TexBlendBumpNormal is hidden

    Hi all,

I'm trying to find and use the Vray TexBlendBumpNormal in Maya 2016 Ext. 2, so I can mix bump and normal maps, but it seems to be hidden! I've used it before in projects, but I can't seem to find it any more.

    Any idea where it's gone?

This is actually a node that is created from a V-Ray plugin in Maya. Those differ from the registered V-Ray nodes by not having a user-friendly GUI. They can be found in the Create from V-Ray plugin menus which is accessible from two places within Maya.
    a) Create menu > V-Ray > Create from V-Ray Plugin > Texture
    b) V-Ray Shelf > right click the fourth icon from the left (with the V-Ray logo on it) and select "Texture".
Then navigate to the plugin you want to create.

Ah that's where it is! I knew it was tucked away somewhere :P. I couldn't see anything in the Help files either about it.

Thanks very much for the quick help.
