Yes, that's exactly it. The rendered sequence I uploaded was with the alembic clipper, though. Which one is the non-alembic one?

Originally I didn't want to use an alembic for the clipper, but Maya 2017's "Flow Path Object" glitched out at render time and I needed that function to create the animated clipper mesh. I baked it down to an alembic cache which didn't glitch out at render time. You can follow that discussion here on the area.

An alembic clipper caused issues with Vray. I decided to look for other solutions while the Chaosgroup devs took a look into it. Suggested by a Maya dev was to use the newly added tool "Curve Warp" which does the exact same thing as "Flow Path Object", but isn't broken. (because it makes sense to create multiple tools that do the same thing as opposed to fix the original tool that is broken, right?)
So... Now I have my scene setup without and alembic as a clipper object, but things are still not working right. Although the flicker is gone (big win), the Triplanar node doesn't seem to be working right (which was happening regardless of using an alembic or the "Curve Warp" regular mesh as the clipper. However, when the clipper is present this issue is present in both scenarios).
Here is a still image of the animation pointing out specifically the troubled spot-
Here is a link to the most recent animation with the "Curve Warp" clipper-
Email me directly if you'd like the exact, updated scene. Triplanar is the only thing causing me issues now. I'm just going to UV Map it to avoid problems, but something for your team to look into I think.
Best,
Clayton

We should definitely resolve any issues with the triplanar. I've sent you a private message here on the forums.
