  • Wrapper and HDR

    Hi all

I'm using a VRay Plane set as a wrapper and have all of the Environment Overrides set to Screen.

I'm getting pretty dark reflections in the spheres and the reflection cuts off.

Is it possible to have the texture reflection repeat in the balls reflections? So as to look like the reflection runs off in to the horizon.

Recently I've used a Maya geometry plane for the ground plane - using a standard vray material with the diffuse texture (backplate) set to camera projection and repeat, which works for the most part, but wanted to see if there is a better way.

    Cheers

Was VRay Plane or a regular maya plane used to render the image above? You're concerned with both the ground plane appearing dark and the reflections not running into the horizon, correct? Can you attach the scene?

      Hi Alex

I've got most things working now:
      (See attached)

I'm not using a texture on the floor plane (which is just Maya geometry now - it was a VRay plane in the previous post).
      All overrides are on.

I'm having to up the Gain to 50 on the Background and Secondary Matte Texture, in order to match the HDR reflection.

Should I up all overrides to Gain 50?

The only other query is, what's the best way of graduating off the reflection of the floor/Secondary Matte Texture to fade in to the hdr reflection? If that makes sense .

      Cheers

Put some circular gradient in the opacity slot of the material on the plane.

        Best regards,

          Cool, cheers. Will do.

Also, is it a typical workflow, to up the Gain for certain over rides?

          Cheers
