  • Vray Proxy Differences from the Maya Render

    Hello,

I've been testing out the use of Vray Proxies and run into a couple of issues.

I made a character in Maya/Vray, tuned it and got it how I liked, then I exported the geo of that character as a Vray proxy, reimported the proxy, deleted the original from the same scene, plugged the shaders back in and hit render. 8/10 shaders worked as expected. The blended shader with transparency and refraction for the eyes did not, and the vray hair Mtl 3 on the hair looked quite different (the hair was converted to polygons on both sides of the test).

and lastly I instanced the vray proxy and randomly one of the instances shows up as the preview geo instead.

Is there a list of supported and unsupported features through vray proxy?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Hey there and sorry for the late reply.

This might be a bug. Can you send us the scene and let us know how to use it to reproduce this on our end? The original geo and scene before export, that is, and the ones after export. I'd like to run some tests and see if there's a bug here.
