  • Vray Clipper with Dirt Element

    Hi guys,

Is there a way to make the V-Ray Clipper work with a Extra Tex element with the dirt map applied? Whether I use either just the standard clipper or a mesh clipper, the dirt pass doesn't seem to take note of the clipped mesh with it's shadowing/occluded areas.

Running Windows with Maya 2018 with Vray 3.6.04

Could you give us an example of what exactly you are trying to achieve? Screenshots would be useful.

This might show a little better how it's working for me: I was trying to do a reveal of the layers of a tyre by using VrayClipper to remove the outer rubber. When the VrayClipper clips the outer layer the dirt pass is still rendering the shadow/occlusion as if the tyre's outer mesh had not been clipped.

Its not anything urgent, I've gotten around it by using matte layers to mask out the unwanted areas. I thought it might be a bug however...

Thank you for the provided shots. I have made a few tests and it seems that the issue is not present and working as expected in V-Ray Next.
