  • building gpu dynamic nodes slowing ipr

Ok so my scene has a fair few proxy trees etc, my ipr render using a 2080ti, has bascially ground to a halt because its taking over 2 mins to 'buildi gpu dynamic nodes'. IPR is no longer interactive. Is this something to be expected with large scenes? I will send a scene when i can, but was curious to know if this becomes an ipr bottleneck as scenes get larger?

It also takes quite some time to stop the rendering.

Using latest vray next, cuda rendering.

    thanks

I also still find it extremely slow to work in IPR using CUDA / RTX. Waiting for all the things to load in order to update the ipr or switching the frame can be painful... but this can happen also with CPU..I don't get why by simply moving the camera V-Ray has to re-calculate so much stuff when you have a proxies / references in your scene.

I would say this is the number one issue with workflow in vray Maya. Just the time to first pixel, as they say.
Enabling cache bitmaps and cache geometry helps sometimes more than others.
