This seems to have been a problem as long as I can remember -- why does Vray get hung up on the last couple of buckets when rendering with refractions? We are talking orders of magnitude longer to finish these buckets than very similar areas nearby.
I have found a workaround since the implementation of resumable rendering, which is to have this turned on and then kill these problem buckets and restart the render. Distributing these buckets to smaller ones immediately clears the problem and they will render in a fraction of the time. By why does this happen all the time, and can this not be fixed? It literally doubles the render time of some images.
