  • Vray for Maya 5 update 2.1 Curvature/Dirt

    Hi,

    I got Problems with Curvature and Dirt using together with Displacement and Light Cache(GI).

    I added a vray Curvature and/or Dirt for generating a mask to tweek the border of the geo in a Displacement Modifier.

    When I render with Light cache I get following errors:
    // Error: line 1: V-Ray : [OOCRenderThread::syncStream] 700: Stream sync failed //
    // Error: line 1: V-Ray : [OOCRenderThread::syncStream] 700: Stream sync failed //
    // Error: V-Ray : [MemoryManagerGpu::releaseUnmappedMemoryFromInstanc e] 700: Could not release device buffer //

    When I render with Brute Force it works fine but it renders 4 times longer then LC

    Anybody having the same issues? I saw that Chaosgroup changed some stuff on Curvature and Dirt in update 2.1. Looks like some Bug happend with that changes?

    I use V-Ray 5 for Maya, update 2.1 (v5.20.01, revision 31103 from Nov 13 2021) with Maya 2020.4
    I got a RTX 3090 with Nvidia 472.47 Studio Driver

    I'll send the scene via email to the support.

    Cheers
    Tobias

    I went back to the latest Vray 5 update 1 Version and this Bug doesn't appear. (V-Ray 5 for Maya, update 1.3 (v5.10.23, revision 31087 from Nov 5 2021))

      Thanks for the feedback tobiasroesli

      Does this happen with every scene? I cannot reproduce this on my end
      Also make sure to update your driver to 496.13 Game Ready, this update is necessary and carries various improvements

      For the Dirt/Curvature issue, could you please send me a basic scene that crashes for you?

      Best,
      Muhammed

        Hi Muhammed_Hamed

        I don't know if that happens in every scene. I just did one project with the update 2.

        I already sent the scene to the support email. I don't like posting scenes in which a client is involved in the forum.
        I'll send you the link to the scene as personal message.

        I'll update my driver to the Game Ready Driver. my current Driver is the latest Studio Driver (472.47 Studio Driver).

        Cheers
        Tobias
