  • Env Fog Fails

    Hello Chaos team,
I believe there's still a problem with the Env Fog, I'm sending the scene to support. Maya 2022 Windows 10
Basically the fog density disappears at a certain point way before it reaches a value of zero, same thing if you wanna make the fog thinner by increasing the distance value, at a certain increased value it just vanishes (IPR and CPU renders) no GPU tested.
The Transparency slider also, it works for a while as you reduce it and then... suddenly vanishes.
The issue happens at certain value numbers but not necessarily what I have in this image.

Ideally the fog should decreased in density slowly until is barely visible at very low values closer to zero.
See the attachment test and will send scene to be examined. Haven't tested in 2023

Thanks for the report. The issue is reproducible and I've logged it (internal bug-tracker id: VMAYA-11728 ) for developer investigation.

For now, the developers say there's no need for a change. It seems the fog is there, however, it is so thin it's barely visible. It will appear if you pump up a light's intensity or the exposure value. Lowering the transparency should also shift the "vanishing" threshold.

Well it's not what I see Aleks, the fog disappear.."pops out " instead of slowly disappearing....anyways , thanks for looking into it, I'll have to run more tests and try a newer build.
          Cheers.
