  • Motion blur doesn't work with Chaos Scatter

    As the title says

    Bottom row is instanced cubes on a curve with animation expression in offset of the scatter. Top row is geo with keyframes.

    As you can see MB works fine on the top row.

    Hi, thanks for posting. What do you mean by "animation expression"? I've tested a setup with a scatter and animated cube and it as motion blur. Do you mean that you animate the scatter parameters for example the translation?

      ChaosScatterShape1.splineOffset = time;

      Yes, of course instanced geo with keyframes on it will produce MB because it calculates the mb from the original geo that has keyframes on it, but if you animate parameters in the scatter it will not work.

      Here I have done the same that you've done.... Keyframed the cube, and THEN instanced it through scatter. and then there's MB.

        Any other parameter like rotation etc. does not produce motion blur either. This is not the case with 3ds Max. Animating the Scatter parameters produces motion blur in 3ds Max.
        I will investigate this further and get back to the thread.
