    hello, can i use aerial perspective and VDBs in the same scene? when i try i can see the aerial perspective over the fog

    without aerial perspective

    Yes, this does not work in conjunction, I had to use once a fog card or Maya Fluid to get the correct result. Chaos says you need to change the VDB volume to geometry (Rendering roll out >render mode >volumetric geometry )...but still, I could not get it to work at that time.

      Svelin explained why it is happening here. As damaggio said, switch the VolumeGrid's rendering mode to Volumetric Geometry to make it work.

            Here's my quick test comparison this morning....the reason it didn't work for me on GPU is because on large scenes it took too long, I had to go with CPU that was more reliable and fixed the smoke VDB with another method.

              oh wow...both cpu ones are not usable...add that to VDBs not working well in RT, and they really feel under loved.

                damaggio You should increase your Max Transparency levels to get a better look with Volumetric geometry. The default is 50, try 2000 or more.

                  Hey Aleks, thank you very much for your tip, that worked well finally.
                  Couldn't the Max transparency be inside the Volume Grid settings or at least Volumetrics Overrides? Instead is hidden inside Materials overrides.
