Vray seems to ignore the dropoff attribute for the spotlight when it renders.

i think that attribute is redundant. You can get that same effect with cone angle and penumbra angle.

but it would be nice to have support for all the attributes.

Not necessarily switching over, more like expanding my horizons...

being a max and maya user i definitely prefer maya. Some of the things are much better in max, but what I personally love is node based system. Cant beat that. Just every time I have to come back to max and deal with mat editor or uv editor which by the way is as old as max 2...just cant have that in year 2010

definitely loving maya so far. like you said, there are certain things max does alot better though. why cant i choose two axis's when moving objects? like x, and y. In maya, you either move an object in one axis, or all. unless im missing something.

hold down control and click in one of the axis, notice that the yellow rectangle in the center will change from view dependent to axis dependent, after which control clicking on the specific axis will restrain the movement to that specific axises. Control clicking back in the center will make the axis move along view dependent again.

Thank you for the pointer; I've logged this so that we can add it in future versions.

                  Best regards,
