I had an issue today where the "bump shadows" option was turned on in the VRayMtl. It was causing my shader to display hidden triangular edges from my quad based model. This only appeared on a certain part in the image (see attached) and even rebuilding the mesh from scratch, the "error" appeared again.
I'm not to sure what is going on. The material SG node also has round edges enabled too which I think could be a contributing factor. But the problem has now gone when the bump shadows material was turned off
