  • Specify FOV: From Maya Camera (VR2.0)

Hi there, from what I can tell the specify FOV option does not seem to work... or perhaps Im not understanding how to get it to work.

If I add a vray physical camera to my existing maya camera, check the Treat as VRay Physical Camera. Of course, as usual, the camera changes to the default phys cam FOV.

Then, change the Specify FOV drop down to "From Maya camera", and nothing changes. We are still at the new FOV and there isn't an easy way to get back to your old camera framing.

Am I using this improperly? Or is it just a bug. This feature seems pretty critical for any tracked cameras or cameras with animating FOV.

    thanks

Once you turn on the "Specify FOV" value, you can adjust the Maya FOV and the physical camera will follow it. However it will not return the old FOV value, that one is already lost. One simple work-around is to copy the FOV, add the physcal camera, turn on the "Specify FOV" option and paste back the original setting.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Would it be possible to have the Specify from Maya camera by default. This would avoid the jump when activating the physical camera?
      Thanks,

Yes, I think this is somewhere on the "to do" list...
