  • Scale camera problem

Hi I discovered, that if I scale my camera with a physical camera attribute, the light captured by the camera changes.
I would expect the scale of the camera not to change anything in the rendered image.
All the scale of the camera, should only change the size of the icon for better selection.
it is a bit like when you scale a vray rect light, the value of the light goes crazy (or used to?).

is there a reason for that? if not could this be fixed?

    Thanks.

Hm, the scale of the camera should not affect the image... do you have a scene for this?

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

      Hi Vlado,

attached is a file with the problem. If you do a render as it is, everything is black. If you scale the camera back to 1, the sphere will appear.

      Thanks,

      Yannick

        Hi Yannick.

Have found with many renderers that the scale of the camera can have a an effect on things.

If you just want to scale the camera in Maya for viewport purposes you can go to the cameraShape node and scroll down to Dispay Options and you will see a Locator Size setting. This will change the scale of your camera in the viewport without having an effect on anything render wise.

        Best,

        Richard

            Hey, Richard,

Are you referring to the Object Display>Locator Scale under the cameraShape node? I couldn't find the Locator Size under thw Display Options like you said. Thanks for the tip anyway.
            always curious...

              Hey Jason,

Yeah that is what I meant. I did not have Maya open when I wrote that

              Cheers,

              Rich

Thanks for the confirmation, Richard. I ran into that issue before and now I learned a good solution.

                cheers,
